Name: Wilson Barrett Company
Notes: Formed in 1939 by Wilson Barrett at the King's Theatre, Hammersmith. The company was based in London and toured including Scotland. However following the bombing of their London base they moved north in 1940 and made their headquarters in Edinburgh. They played in Edinburgh and Glasgow and occasionally in Aberdeen. It was a useful training ground for Scottish actors including Walter Carr and Edith Macarthur. The company disbanded in August 1955
