Name: Edward Henry Carson Baron Carson of Duncairn
Dates: 1854-1935
Notes: Politician and lawyer. Born in Dublin, studied at Trinity College and was called to the Irish bar in 1877. Appointed a QC in 1889 and solicitor-general for Ireland in 1892. Served as an MP (Dublin University, 1892-1918); Belfast Duncairn (1918-1921) and had become leader of the Irish Unionist MPs at Westminster in 1910. Briefly, in 1915, he was a member of the Cabinet as attorney-general. [See D.
