Part of MS Paterson RE |
Content: | Carbon copy of typescript letter from Herbert Paterson to Anne [Wallace]. Swan Cottage, Shillingford, Oxford, 19 December 1976. Regarding her proposal for a photographic exhibition within Paterson family exhibition [at Belgrave Gallery, London]. Negative plates suffered from water damage in storage in garage at Waterstock Mill; some discarded. Made prints on P.O.P. paper similar to that used by J[ames] P[aterson]. James's father Andrew was early amateur photographer using wet collodion process, but James used dry plate camera and daylight printing paper. Mark has asked for two complete sets of prints but does not know condition of negatives. So far unable to obtain more P.O.P. paper. Commercial photographer will not produce sepia print. Suggests meeting Mark in London. Postscript: Quick look at Gallery when in London but missed Mr Grose. Additional postscript copying this letter to Mark. Document inherited by Anne Paterson Wallace from Major-General H.M. Paterson, 1979; donated by her to the James Paterson Museum, 12 February 1996. James Paterson Museum accession no. E008.9. |
