Notes: This album, titled Darien Manuscripts, was probably compiled by the donor, J J Spencer. Most of the letters have a modern transcription filed with them, probably also written by Spencer. (The same hand has annotated each album page with a manuscript number eg Man. No. 6 which corresponds to entries in the catalogue of Darien material at MS Gen 1684. These manuscript numbers begin at 3 and do not correspond to the item numbers assigned when cataloguing. The first page of each letter has also been numbered eg 11 but it is not clear what this refers to.)
