Content: Diary of James Campbell from 8th July 1915 to 16th March 1918. (6th Battalion Cameron Highlanders). Manuscript notebook, probably written up after the war.
Entries range from short paragraphs to several pages per day and record experiences as a Lewis Gunner during World War One, including action at the Battle of Loos.
Entries are preceded by a poem 'The Camerons' (beginning 'From Chiseldon to Flanders at last we got the call'), initialled R.E. Another untitled poem (beginning 'Beyond the path of the outmost sun through utter darkness hurled') is written at the back of the book.
The name Kate Urquhart is written on the front pastedown.
