Remarks: This universal History by Husain Effendi, generally known as Hazarfan, was written in 1081-3 A.H. It is dated Constantinoplo, 15th Rejeb, 1089 A.H. = 6th Sept. 1678 A.D.
On the first page in an early XVIII. Cent. French hand: Ex libris Pétis de Lacroix. The same name recurs on the verso of the last leaf (unpaged), under the following: Cecy est tout escript de ma main d'un bout a l'autre - | et l'ai achevé d'ecrire aujourdhuy 6me septre 1678 | a Constantinople Pétis De la Croix. The table of contents occupying pages 2-5 is translated into French on the page opposite.
