Remarks: Mr. Lionel Giles of the British Museum has kindly supplied the following information: The 'Explanation of the Star-Maps' gives the number of the stars of each magnitude.
It is dated 1711 (the reign of K'ang Hsi).

Author's name is actually given in the MS. as: Min Ming-wo, i.e. P. Claudio-Filippo Grimaldi SJ (1638-1712). Ex. inf. Dr. Eva Kraft (Letter dated 12 November 1974)
Physical Description: Bound volume.
Paper, eight sheets, six (of maps), each about 10 x 10, two of (?block) letterpress, each 10 x 11, each sheet folded in half and mounted on cardboard, jointed continuously (like a folding screen). Early Cent. XVIII. (1711).
Binding: Thick pasteboards attached to the ends of the jointed cardboard to form covers, and covered with dark crimson paper stamped to imitate watered silk
