Content: William Hunter's Journal of attendance on Her Majesty Queen Charlotte as Physician Extraordinary.
Pages 1-30 describe his attendance previous to, and at, the birth of George, Prince of Wales (afterwards George IV.). The first page is headed: "3 May 1762", and begins: "I had the honour of making my first visit". Page 31 is headed: "The Queen's 2d Lying-in & Birth of Prince Frederic. 16 Aug. 1763". Page 41 is headed: "The Queens 2d (sic) Lying-in and Birth of Prince William. 21 Aug. 1765." The manuscript is incomplete, ending: "The Prince well - The Nurse still kept her own child". 12mo.
Physical Description: Bound volume. 44 pp. Crimson morocco binding with gold tooling incorporating crest of hunting horn. Repaired with new morocco back, April 1953.
