On the first page of this MS. is this title: "The Forme of Processe used before the Lords of counsell and session wreatten be that famous Jurisconsult Sir James Dalrymple of Stairs knight ane of the senators of the colledge of justice. Anno 1666".
At the end of the volume is an index with this title: "Index of the principall things treated of in this book ordine Alphabetico shewing the Leafs wherein they are to be found".
On the fly-leaf at the end of the volume is this inscription: "Finis hujus tabulŠ. 3a Non: Novembris. Anno dom: 1680". 12mo.
The MS. is in a neat hand, and does not seem to have been published as a separate work. In 1681 Stair published his Institutions of the law of Scotland
