Item Details

Call Number: MS Hunter 602 (S.6.15)
Date of Creation: Between 1733 and 1734
Level of Description: Item
Part of MS Hunter 1-658
Content: On the fly-leaf of this volume is the following inscription: "Liber Thomæ Bradford M.D. qui percepi ex dono Experientis ac Nobilissimi Iuveni. I. Strong, M.D. Anno 1734". Below this is written in red ink in a different hand: "I. Strong, M.D. Prælectiones Medicæ". 4to.
This MS. may consist of a student's notes of a professor's lectures. They are in Latin. Possibly "I. Strong" and "Thomas Bradford" were only medical students, and the degree "M.D." may have been a jocular anticipation. At least there is no "I. Strong" nor "Thomas Bradford" in Munk's Roll of the Royal College of Physicians. The inscription seems to be written in a bantering style
