Content: A description of the pregnant uterus, [by William Hunter.]
This is the MS. of "An anatomical description of the human gravid uterus, and its contents", first published in London in 1794, eleven years after Hunter's death. It was edited by Hunter's nephew, Dr. Matthew Baillie. On a fly-leaf there is written, apparently by William Hunter: "A Description of The Pregnant Uterus. It appears to me proper to be printed".
The MS. consists of two parts. Part I. contains 2 folios of "Contents". Then fly-leaf with title. After that folios 1-55. These are all in Hunter's handwriting. Part II. is made up of 30 folios. Folios 1-12 are in Hunter's handwriting. Folios 13, 14 are in Baillie's handwriting, but the text is by Hunter. Folios 15-30 are also in Baillie's handwriting, and contain the additions which he made to Hunter's work.

ff. 1-55 is wrong description. There are 54 numbered double folios (i.e. sheets) with insertions, actually ff. 118 in all in this first part.
