Remarks: A strip of early XV. Cent. MS. used as a backstrap in original binding.

On the same page (inverted) in a XVII.-XVIII. Cent. hand: John Partridge. This is possibly John Partridge (1644-1715), the astrologer and almanac-maker. See Dict. Nat. Biog. xliii. 428.
On ii, 1 verso in an XVIII. Cent. hand: E. Asbury. This name is found in V.5.9.
At the bottom in a XVII.-XVIII. Cent. hand: This other side amounts to 49lb: 13s: 7d.

Physical Description: Bound volume.
Vellum (stout), 9 5/8 x 4, ff. 52, beautifully written in nine or ten cols. of about 50 lines, in various colours, margined and ruled in red, 9 x 4 1/8, no signatures, catchwords, or foliation, running titles (headings), 'Ages of the world' rubricated, gilt, illuminated figures of Daniel's visions, the first quire loose, otherwise well preserved. Early Cent. XVII. (1607).
Binding: Original, millboards, covered polished calf, gilt-tooled (lines) sides, ornamental corner and central brass bosses, originally clasped, of which the brass hinged and catches remain, recently re-backed, title, modern (gilt), on crimson morocco shield. Early Cent. XVII.
