After the rubric on 17, 9 recto, the same hand continues (to 17, 10 verso, line 9) with an appreciation of Lactantius ending with a list of his works; then a list of the titles of the chapters in Book I. of the Institutiones succeeds, and ends on the verso (line 16): Expliciunt Capitula primi libri de falsa religione (rubric).

Physical Description: Bound volume.
Vellum, 10 x 7 3/8, ff. 261, originally ff. 260, well written in a Roman (?) hand, in single cols. of 31 lines, each 6 3/8 x 4, margined with plummet, ruled with red ink (faded), no signatures or foliation visible, probably cropped, catchwords, gilt illuminated initials with elaborate floral gestures, blue initials with vermilion ornament and gestures, vermilion initials with cerise ornament and gestures, rubrics, running titles, marginalia, doubly cropped, gnawed by beetles (top corners), otherwise clean and (excepting the loss of the first folio for which two are substituted, an early XVIII. Cent. hand supplying the lacuna) well preserved, fol. sec. tradiderunt. Cent. XV.
Binding: Millboards, covered crimson (faded to brown) grained Russia, gilt-tooled edges, sides and panelled back, saffron edges, title (gilt) on black and green morocco shields: LACTANTIUS | M.S. Cent. XVIII.
