Remarks: On i, 4 verso in Dr. Wm. Hunter's hand: Bartholomeus Anglicus de Proprietatibus Rerum.
1, 1 recto contains, in a contemporary notarial hand, the concluding 42 lines of a Papal Bull ending: Auinione xiij Kalendas decembris Pontificatus nostri anno octauo.
1, 1 verso-1, 4 recto contain, in the same hand, what appears to be another Bull, ending: Datum Auinione iij Idus Novembris Pontificatus nostri anno Nono.
On 20, 6 verso under the text, in a XVI. Cent. hand, is a prescription for palsy: . pur Palesie . prenetz couslyppe et foille de primerole et foille de Sage et Rouge urtie, mustard oue cenevere (?) [? = genièvre] et les facez bien | moudre ensemble et prenetz bure de may ou autre bure fresche et les facez bien boiller et colir par my vn drap de lyn et foces [? = facez] vndre [? = oindre] le malade.
On 20, 7 verso in the same notarial hand as before, 20 lines of what may be the end of another Bull.
Bartholomaeus Anglicus (fl. 1230-50), commonly called Bartholomew de Glanville, minorite friar and professor of Theology at Paris, went to Saxony 1231.
The city of Avignon was the Papal See from 1309 to 1377, and thereafter, till 1418, the Antipapal See.

Vellum, 12 5/8 x 9¼, ff. 229, originally ff. 230, well written in a French hand, in double cols. of 48 lines, each 9½ x 3, ruled and double margined with brown crayon, signatures and catchwords, no foliation, first initial (blue and red), ornamented and gestured, initials of chapters blue with red ornament and gestures, rubrics, red and blue paragraph marks, initials of index touched with gambge, marginalia, mainly contemporary, cropped, clean and well preserved, fol. sec. sure localis. Early Cent. XIV.
Binding: Millboards, covered brown Russia, gilt-tooled edges, sides and panelled back, cinnamon edges, title (gilt) on green morocco shields: BARTHOL. | ANGLICUS | DE | PROPRIET. | M.S. Cent. XVIII.
