Remarks: On 1, 1 recto (lower margin) and on 33, 10 recto col. a, in XVIII.-XVIII. Cent. hand: guyon de sardiere.
The picture on the first page represents Julius Caesar (?) robed in dark blue and crowned, with a sword in his left hand, seated on a canopied crimson throne (m.). A group of Senators are followed by armed soldiers with a gonfalon inscribed SPQR (l.). A mace-bearer stands (r.) on the other side of the throne. Two mounted and gorgeously dressed knights are accompanied by a number of clients, among whom is a laurel-wreathed poet.
This work really forms the sequel to Le Livre d'Orose.
This MS. according to M. Meyer (Documents Manuscrits, Paris, 1871, p. 113) = No. 1559 in the Catalogue of Guyon de Sardière published 1759.

Vellum, 13¼ x 10 3/4, ff. 226, well written in double cols. of 34 lines, each 8 3/8 x 3 1/8, signatures (originals cropped), XVII.-XVIII. Cent., inner margin, bottom (a-z, aa-kk), catchwords, no foliation, first page floreated and embellished with a picture, 3 3/4 x 7 (see Remarks in Description), floreated margins, blue initials with red gestures and vice versâ, rubrics, ruled and margined with brown crayon, cropped, no marginalia, clean, well preserved, fol. sec. que leur. Late Cent. XIV.
Binding: Millboards, covered brown calf, gilt-tooled inner margins, edges and panelled back, blind-tooled (lines) sides, red edges, title (gilt) on crimson morocco shield: LES FAITS | DES | (R)OMAINS. Cent. XVII.-XVIII.
