Begins - after a title page (occupying 2, 2 recto) as follows:- [Greek characters] | JOANNIS GRAMMATICI | GAZAEI | Mundanę tabulę, | quę est Gazę, vel Antiochię, | DESCRIPTIO - (2, 2 verso line 1): [Greek characters] = Ed. Rutgers, p. 98, lines 1-6.
Ends (9, 8 verso line 12): [Greek characters] = Ed. Rutgers, p. 118, line 6.
Remarks: On the inside of the front 'board' in an XVIII. hand: 5.
On 2, 2 recto under the title, in Theophilus Siegfried Bayer's hand (1694-1738): Ex Bibliotheca Rostgartiana | comparaui TSB. | Graece hanc [Greek characters] vulgauit Janus Rutgersius libro II. variarum lectionum p. 98. Lugd. 1618. 4. For T.S. Bayer see U.7.2.
2, 3 recto and 4 recto contain a Latin translation of the first 25 lines (the Prologue) in the same hand as wrote the title page.

Paper, 6½ x 4 1/8, ff. 78, written, without margins or ruling, on the versos only, in single cols. of about 13 lines, each about 5 3/8 x 3½, no catchwords, signatures, or pagination, quires stitched into a vellum wrapper. Cent. XVII.-XVIII.
Binding: Original, vellum (paper lined), flapped wrapper (after the Oriental style), quires stitched into wrapper, some loose. Cent. XVII.-XVIII.
