On i, 4 verso in Dr. Wm. Hunter's hand: P. Hispani Thesaurus pauper- | um. | - de morbis oculo- | rum Liber.
On 1, 1 recto top margin, rubricated title in the same hand as the rest of the MS.: thesaurus pauperum.
On 6, 2 recto lines 24-27 contain additions in the same hand (?), but highly contracted.
On 7, 8 recto under a XVI. Cent. hand is a receipt for making gunpowder (?); in a somewhat later hand: deus meus in te est | god mine in the is.
Petrus Hispanus, originally Joannes Petrus (Joao Pedro), son of a Lisbon doctor, became Cardinal of Frascati in 1275 and Pope in 1276, and died 1277.

Vellum, 5 3/4 x 3 7/8, ff. 82, originally ff. 84, well written (in the same hand as U.8.9) in single cols. of 27 lines, each 4 1/8 x 2 3/4, ruled and margined with plummet, signatures, mostly cropped, catchwords, pagination, contemporary (1-118 and 1-11) later (12-35), illuminated initials with gestures, small red and blue initials with ornament and gestures of the opposite colour, rubrics, initials touched with vermilion, red and blue paragraph marks, marginalia, some (contemporary) in brown crayon, much cropped, otherwise well preserved, fol. sec. cutem et post. Early Cent. XIV.
