On both boards are pasted slips of white paper on which are printed in Gothic letters (inked over): Piers Plowm,
The two following MSS. [U.7.6, U.7.7] are roughly bound in the same way and have similar titles on their boards; all had also slips pasted across their backs of which only that on (U.7.7) survives, which has the Gothic letter L, probably the others had P and C respectively.

Binding: Original, pasteboards, backed with coarse blue paper, repaired with grey paper, rough edges, title (ink): M.S. Cent. XVIII.
