Ends (5, 8 recto lines 29-30): gna uobis est si dissimulare non uultis necessitas indicta probitatis: | cum ante oculos agitis iudicis cuncta cernentis. = p. 1116, last line, Ed. Basil. = p. 411, last line, Ed. Valpy.
Remarks: The conclusion of the text is followed, after one line's space, by a commentary in an early XIII. Cent. hand on Bk. III., Metrum ix., fol. 21, line 3, etc., which extends to line 37 on the verso. It begins thus: In numeris elementa ligas. id est. innumerabilibus qualitatibus. ignis est siccus et calidus. aer uero calidus et | humidus. aqua est humida et frigida. terra frigida et sicca. et per has qualitates ligantur... and ends thus: ea qua regebas primum hominem reges. adhuc illos qui hodie sunt et cetera sic.
On 1, 1 recto in an XVIII.-XIX. Cent. hand: Boetius, No. 1. 3-3-0.
Between these, in a XIII. Cent. hand, is a medical note:

On f. 31 verso top margin, is a diagram in red, of four concentric circles, the outermost of which has spirals externally attached named ERRAtici; between this and the next circle is: homines; in the third: clerici; in the second: angeli; in the central circle: Deus.
On f. 32 recto bottom margin, a similar diagram, with those circles (beginning with the central): theos, firmamentum, te ra u li [? for terra [Greek characters]], celi, planetas [this last corresponding to erratici].

Physical Description: Bound volume.
Vellum, 9 1/8 x 5 5/8, ff. 40, beautifully written in Italy (?) in a small clear hand, in single cols. of 34 lines, each 6 x 3, ruled and margined with bodkin, no signatures or catchwords, foliation, modern, in pencil, illuminated initials (knot pattern) beginning of Bk. II. (1, 7 verso), coloured capitals, initials of sentences touched with red and green, numerous marginalia, contemporary and later, fol. sec. perspicacibus, vellum, holed and repaired. Cent. XI.
Binding: Millboards, covered crimson (faded to brown) morocco, gilt-tooled sides (lines), edges, and panelled back, gilt stamp (on front board) with name underneath: MUSEUM HUNTERIANUM | GLASGUENSE; title (gilt) on green shield: BOETIVS | DE CONSOL | PHILOSO: | M.S. Early Cent. XIX.
