Begins - after a title of contents occupying 1, 1 verso-1, 5 verso - (2, 1 recto lines 1-3): Epistola | Jeronimi ad Eustochium de uirginitate seruanda .|. | O [historiated initial representing the Nativity, Ox (left), Ass (right), adore in background the cross-nimbed Holy Child in a wattled manger, the B.V.M. nimbed, in blue mantle, with folded hands, prays; S. Joseph, nimbed, in green mantle and red turban, reclines, with head on right hand, holding staff in his left] FILIA, audi et uide et inclina aurem tuam: et
Ends (20, 2 recto line 33): tiam quam sub consulibus Epycuri luxuriam susceperunt: = (Ep. CLI contra Jer. ii).
Remarks: The Table begins: TABVLA EPISTVLARVM INCLITI DOCTORIS IERONIMI PR | ESBITERI PER ORDINEM SEQVITVR. and continues in alternate lines giving the title and number of each Epistle in red and in black, the opening words, with a small gilt initial, on alternately a blue and red ground sprinkled with small white dots in threes.
The order varies entirely from that of Hunt. Mus. Lib. T.1.1 (q.v.).

Vellum, 13 3/4 x 10, ff. 390, well written in an Italian hand, in single cols. of 36 lines, 9 5/8 x 6, signatures (left bottom corner, contemporary), catchwords, no foliation, gilt illuminated initials, rubrics, one marginal note (16, 2 verso), clean, well preserved except for damp on top, worm holes, fol. sec. VS que hodie. Early Cent. XV.
Binding: Millboards, covered grain Russia, gilt-tooled sides and edges, and inside margin (lines), recently re-backed. Cent. XVIII.
