Begins (1, 2 recto line 1): Nec Satis est legisse Semel
Ends (33, 6 verso lines 19-22): Astrologia est liber dei apertus | in quo pauci legere norunt [therefore] | Take no greate Worke in hande if the [unkeyable character]: [i.e. the Moon] be in: [unkeyable character]: [i.e. Mars] or [unkeyable character] [i.e. Aries] to be in Ascendent.
Remarks: 1, 4 recto was meant for title page and has, in elaborately flourished writing: "Fasciculus | - 1616 [therefore] | Henr [therefore] Fowler [therefore]" under which comes a design like a capital H, from which ascends a 4 with two strokes through the upright line [probably a monogram = H. Ff.] and these words: "My Fathers | Clothmarke | Scorne not | the marchant | nor the clothier . sunt Reipublicae nerui : and without synews | the body cann | haue no strengh | it followeth without the marchant | and the clothier the Kingdomes of | the earth haue nether strength | nor motion, the synewes are the cause of strengh | motion and sense, tactus fit per neruos: sine tactu non est | Animal.
ff. 27, 1.-28, 16. were inserted after the original foliation.

Paper, 6 x 4, ff. 279, originally ff. 286, closely written in single cols. of about 32 lines, each about 5 x 3, and in double cols. (ff. 205-232) of about 28 lines, each about 5 3/8 x 1 3/8, margined with red ink, not ruled, no signatures or catchwords, pagination by the author (3, 3. [f. 19 (f. '1')] - 26, 8. [f. '189']; 29, 1. [f. '190'] - 32, 8. [f. '238']), thereafter modern, numerous marginalia and interlineations by the author and others, a few illuminated initials and many (coloured) pen and ink drawings, rubrics. Cent. XVII. (1616-1640).
