Paulus, the son of Warnefridus the Lombard, was first a servitor, then a deacon, and lastly a monk in the monastery of Monte Cassino. He is quoted by Saxo Grammaticus as Paulus Cassiensis monachus, and Paulus Atriensis.

Vellum, 10 3/4 x 7, ff. 116, originally ff. 120, well written in double cols. of 29 lines, each 7 x 2 1/8, ruled and margined with brown crayon, signatures (rubricated), catchwords, foliation (in pencil, modern), first initial blue with red ornament and gestures, small initials red and blue alternately, rubrics and rubricated running titles, initials touched with vermilion, vellum defective, no marginalia, fol. sec. sunt de gente. Cents. XII.-XIII.
