Begins (1, 1 [fol. 1] recto col. a, lines 1-6): Here may a man here how engelond was | first called Albyon And afterwarde whan it hadde first [th]e name; [rubric] | I [small gilt and illuminated initial; ornamentation prolonged round margins] n the noble londe of Sirrye [th]ere | was a noble Kyng and alle so | myghty and of grete renoun].
Ends (15, 6 [fol. 114] verso col. b, lines 46, 47): that he shulde not seke none occasions | for to entre . Into such matters and [th]en.
Remarks: The lower floreated margin of fol. 1 recto has on a shield (argent) a chevron (sable), and an annulet (sable) in chief, dexter canton.
On 6, 4 [fol. 44] recto, chap. 120, col. a, are three small blanks representing erasures of superfluous words. On the top margin of 11, 4 [fol. 84] recto in a XVI. Cent. hand: i...s bonser(?).
On 11, 7 [fol. 87] verso is a list of the divisions (rubricated) of the Scottish army (chap. 224 in Caxton).
11, 8 verso has the last numbered (230) chapter rubric, but unnumbered rubrics are continued to 15, 4 recto, which reads: How King henre [th]e ffythe . leyde A Sege | vnto [th]e cete of Rone. And how he gatt [th]e Cetee with strenthe and manhode. This chapter is continued from the last line of col. b of 15, 5 recto, and concludes over leaf, col. a, lines 35, 36: hym. In the castyll the towne | was sett in rulle and in gouernaunce.
After a space of an inch (left blank for the rubric) the same hand continues: And anone after [th]at Roone was got | ten. This chapter ends 15, 6 verso col. a, line 30: sowlles god haue mercy Amen.
After a similar space the same hand resumes "Here ys to be notede thate thys Kynge | henry the fyfth was A noble prynce," and continues to the end of the next col. where the MS. ends.
On the verso of 15, 7. in a XVI. Cent. hand: In beginnynge God he m..., a little lower in red ink: Henrye the eight by the grace of God, and on next page in capitals: A MAN.
On the last verso (blank), under three rude pen and ink outlines of heads, one in red ink, in a late XVI. Cent. hand: boyer ys my nam so saye they near by I moe | boyer ys my nam so saye they near.
15, 5 recto col. b, last line = Caxton, p. 318, line 19.
15, 5 verso col. a, line 36 = Caxton, p. 318, last line.
The omitted rubric on this page is in Caxton, "How the King of England was made heritier and regent of fraun | ce and how he wedded Quene Katherine Ca. ccxlv."

Vellum, 11 7/8 x 8 3/4, ff. 116, well written in various hands, in double cols. of 38-51 lines, each 8-9 x 2 7/8, margined with brown crayon, catchwords (first quire only), signatures, mostly cropped, no foliation, first page floreated, blue initials with red ornament and gestures beginning each chapter, rubrics, and red and blue paragraph marks (first few quires only), few marginalia, well preserved, fol. sec. they comen to the londe. Cent. XV.
Binding: Millboards, covered crimson (faded to brown), grained Russia, gilt-tooled sides and edges and panelled back, Dr. Wm. Hunter's crest (a Hunter's Horn) in the lowest panel, title (gilt) on black and green morocco shields: CRONYILES | OF | ENGLANDE M.S. Cent. XVIII.
