On a slip of paper attached to the first board, in a XVII.-XVIII. Cent. hand: 1 petit Liure Escript a la main du Arabe quj traitte de la filozoffie | [in a later hand] et des Pierres precieuses, and on the recto of the first free fly-leaf, in a late XVII. Cent. hand: Auctor huius Libri scripsit haec Anno sex centesimo, quadragentesimo, ut uidere est capite quarto de | yemma quĉ dicitur [in Arabic characters] ZABARJAD (chrysolite), and on the verso of the same, eight lines of Arabic, stating the sources used in compiling this work, namely: Hermes' book of stones; Apollonius of Tyana's Secret of Nature; the book of Aristotle and Alexander; Ptolemy; Galen; Dioscorides; Mas'udi; Hippocrates; Farabi; Ghazali, and others.
