The heraldic book-plate of Joseph Ames has been removed from the fourth fly-leaf. For Joseph Ames, see T.1.9, T.8.22 and V.2.5.
On the last fly-leaf, attached, is written in pencil in an XVIII.-XIX. Cent. hand: The Koran | From the first to the tenth Book | Note. For every page you would get | in Persia ten guineas.

Physical Description: Bound volume.
Vellum, 7 3/8 x 7 1/8, ff. 76, exquisitely written in Maghribi in single cols. of 10 lines, each 5 x 4 3/4, the first page floreated, the writing throughout being illuminated, the headings in gilt Kufic characters, divisions, the vowels and diacritical points are gilt and coloured, - humza an orange dot, teshdid and sukun blue, wasl green, and the vowel points purple.
Binding: Millboards, covered calf, gilt-tooled edges and sides, IOSEPH AMES stamped in the centre of each board
