The South Prison

The South Prison, better known as the Justiciary Courts, was designed by William Stark and built 1809-14 at the foot of the Saltmarket opposite Glasgow Green. It was planned to accommodate a prison, courts, and offices for the town council, and was reconstructed exclusively for courts 1910- 13.
