Papers and correspondence of Harold Wright (1885-1961), art historian and a director of the London art dealer, Colnaghi’s. Over 3,500 items including Wright’s notes on a number of modern British artists, e.g. Muirhead Bone, D.Y. Cameron, Frank Benson, F.L. Griggs, and also a collection of materials forming the basis for Wright’s major work on Alphonse Legros, painter, etcher and sculptor, and friend of Courbet, Whistler and Manet.

  • Nigel Thorp, Whistler, MacColl, Wright: art history papers, 1850-1950, in Glasgow University Library (Glasgow, 1979) - an inventory of correspondents. In addition, there is an unpublished typescript catalogue of the Wright Papers containing abstracts of the correspondence.
